Research Interests

Aesthetic Experience

I am interested in qualities such as beauty and sublimity. I am interested in their moral and religious implications for the beholder, as well as the intersection between aesthetic experience and other fields of study, such as philosophy of memory.

Philosophy of Religion

I am interested in studying faith traditions, particularly Christianity. I am interested in practices such as rites and rituals, as well as the intersection between aesthetics and religion.

History of Philosophy

More broadly, I am interested in the history of philosophy, particularly 20th-century philosophy. Recent work has been focused on Susanne Langer and her place in the larger analytic tradition.
